Can anyone tell me if there is a way to change the Contact Form habit of resetting all fields when there is an error upon submit?

If the user hasn't filled in all the required fields (lets say they forget one field) and then they press submit, ALL of the fields reset to [blank], with the note at the top stating 'required field..blah blah.

This is a pain, because then the user has to go through and enter all of the information again, instead of just the one field they forgot.

Is this a bug, and what can I do to fix this?
