I disagree: If you have an ecommerce website, people found you because they searched for and want to buy the product you have, not to chat and socialize.
So, I have no problem to guide customers with a click of a button to OUR facebook page, where they can see our latest product specials, can register, become a fan of us, where the page is full of links back to our website (at least this is the plan, we are working on)
Plus, it helps your rankings to have those on your homepage.
Actually, you can link facebook to twitter and only have to post once...
I like twitter better, it is not so confusing as I think facebook it.
