I am looking to add a auto generated date value into an extra product field for a SOLD DATE.

Has anybody done this or know how I could accomplish this goal.

The reason being that I need to be able to search under "Consigned Goods" field and 'Sold Date' to generate a weekly Report for Consigned Goods Sold.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
