I would definitely suggest that you compare the two solutions. I would agree that no monthly fee and better X-Cart integration are clear advantages to MagneticOne. However, there are certainly some advantages to SurveyMonkey (or other hosted solutions) as well - the most obvious being (in my experience) that SurveyMonkey offers many more types of questions. They all seem to work flawlessly and it's easy to make sense of the results.
MagneticOne was very responsive when I asked them to add a new type of question (grid/ranking). Even though their initial attempt wasn't perfect, I imagine they'd be likely to polish their software with feedback, if you've got the time and patience.
