I tried and happend same, didn't work I put the description and information about product in table created with frontpage and paste that code in product description but it didn't display correctly. finally I got x-cart to done extra product description box for me so I don't have to load table to define different information.
But I heard that in updated version of x-cart they have fixed that. Don't really know which one.
