1. You simply edit the images themselves and re-upload them. Do you mean the thumbnail size? That is set in General Settings/Appearance options
2. Open up the site in Webmaster Mode - this will tell you exactly which templates you need to be looking at. Start with customer/home.tpl, make sure there are no spaces or <br/> tags between the menus. Then open up the menu templates themselves and look for spaces.
Can you also take a moment to update your forum signature with your EXACT version? You can find this in your 'Summary' area of the admin. Thank you!
