Thanks Penghead. Annoyed and I were talking about it earlier.

I couldn't find much regarding using the <b> tag in this way or find an example where nesting them would be an advantage.

<b><b></b><b></b></b> with no content and using it for layout just seems to me to be out of context and misused. Why not choose b tags for tableless designs? It would save a terrific amount of bandwidth and present a leaner carbon footprint.

Talking of carbon footprints... I'll shut up now ;D
