Hi all,
This issue is a nice to have rather than vital, but I'm sure would interest a few.
I am trying to make efficient use of my sidebar & page space - for most of my static pages the height is small enough so that customers do not have to scroll down to see all of the page.
My product cat pages and perhaps cart/wishlist pages can contain lots of information - i.e: the customer needs to scroll down to see all of the content.
When they scroll down there is a horrible white waste of space in my side bar as my sidebar content is fairly small.
Is it possible for a template and or js to measure the page height and return a value for me to call in my sidebar template?
thus allowing me to display extra info (in my case: personal recommends) in my sidebar only {if} the height is sufficient.
worst case - I shall simply create {if} statements based current page (assuming those selected pages will be of a greater height than my static pages).
The gold plated solution - If it is possible to measure page height then a few template versions of personal recommends each with different height increments could be called dependent upon page height - hopefully optimizing my empty page space!?
Is this do-able or am I making a simple problem complicated?

Regards
Hebs
