I used to use shopzilla many moons ago so things may of changed since.

But could you assign a extra field per product (and so it's only shown in admin) and then give it values of NFL, NBA etc. and then use those in the export of the feed using the feed manager.

We had x-cart make a special mod to the extra fields for us so rather than having to type it in each time we can create extra fields as text input or via drop down selection which really saves time (and reduces typos)
