I was curious about the same thing. I don't absolutely need the functionality now, but it could be useful down the road. I noticed that someone out there is offering a mod that supposedly allows you to do this, i.e., switch between skins, via a simple variable. So you could even offer different skins to different customers, say wholesale vs. retail. (Just do a Google search for 'Xcart Skin Swap', you'll find it easily.)
My question is, has anyone tried it, by any chance? At 65 bucks, it could be worth saving a few hours of poking around -- if it works. The demo links are broken, though, which doesn't bode well...
