I am working on a solution to the IE7 issue and will post an update shortly. If you view my demo page and it is working now then I am close to solving it.
As for your other error -
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() - this means that you have an old version of GD compiled on your server that does not support GIF images. GIF image support was added back in around 2005 I think. You need to get your host to update your version of GD.
