That is exactly what the mod does? It may be an old post, but the concept still applies....you just need to tweak it a bit to do what you want. All you need to do is simply change 'My Account' to 'Login'. You can even get it to switch based on if the user is logged in or not.
As with most mods in the forum, they are never going to be exactly what you want, you need to try them out and modify them to what you want them to do
Make a backup of the files affected and just give it a try.
