I use a program called Compare It that is great for opening two files side by side so that you can compare differences and making changes with ease. But, the end result of "any" changes to X-Cart is that those files will have to be manually patched....whether you change one file or 20.....

I always keep track of my changes...as carpeperdiem said...that's the best way and if you have someone make the changes to X-Cart for you....always ask for a list of files that were modified.
