1. It seems you have customized the speed bar in your X-Cart. At least, I could not reproduce the problem you are experiencing on a default installation.
2. This issue may be related to the error in the routine of calculating the number of subcatergories. Try to apply the attached patch, please. Then go to the section 'Summary/Tools' and click the button 'Force cache generation'.
