interminent problem during checkout
Don't know if this is the right forum but it seems to be the closet to the problem i am having. I sent to the xcart but thought i might try here and see if any of you pros might have had the same problem.
We seem to be having some trouble with orders being submitted. Customers place items in the cart. Then check out. We get the email that new customer has registered. They click submit order and the page doesn't load. We get and order notification via email but it has no order number, no customer info, and a bunch of items that the customer didn't even order. The order does not get recorded in the database and we cannot find any trace of the order on the "orders" list. This only has happened about 5 times in 150 orders. Also if the customer is using the paypal option to pay, we actually get the payment to our paypal account. We have asked the customers questions like OS, CPU speed, DSL or Cable modem, and have recieved a wide range of answers. I dont now where to begin to look for a problem.
We are on a dedicated server, with pletty of juice so i don't think it could be a resource problem. Dual xeon cpu 512 mb ram .
Any ides would be a great help.
