Embbed and root pages difference?

Hello every one,

If some one can help me and point out the difference, purpose and how to use the 2 different types of static pages?

Thank you in advace.

Kind regards,

Root pages will be added to the root of your xcart directory, and will not show up under the help menu. Embeded pages are added to your skin1 directory and all are added under the help menu.

Boomer,

Kind regards,
Ricky

You would need to use the embeded pages to do such, that is another point as root pages are seperate to the x-cart layout.

Which brings me to ponder....

Why would X-Cart have a root page feature? Anyone who can create an HTML page, would surely be able to upload it for themselves.

It's not like Qualitynoteam had the forsight to include a WYSIWYG editor or anything.

Just more confused features added from user paid-for modifications. Features added that are incomplete, under developed or full of bugs.

Do you mean something like this?
http://www.wahmboutique.com/boutique/customer/pages.php?pageid=20

this page is made by linking 5 embedded pages together. The links to the embedded page do not show in my help menu.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You created 5 lng.txt variables and populate them with the information you need to display?

When you put all 5 together did you use a templete to do it? If, so would you kindly show me an example?

Thank you so much in advance.

Kind regards,
Ricky

Hmm...no, I created 5 embedded static pages with my html code.

Only the first page of information is linked from my main page (top right corner) and the rest are hyperlinked between each other.

Does that make sense? I'm not an expert by any means :)
