My Account to go to login if not logged in
Hi all:
I would like a link on the speed bar with my account which goes to the my account section if logged in and to the login page if not logged in. Is there a built in way I havent found yet? If I use register.php?mode=update, I get a signup and if I use error_message.php?login_incorrect I can't get to the account. TIA Gunter |
Unfortunately, I don't think xcart has it set up this way, so you're going to have to create a myaccout.php page, I believe. However, I am also very interested in having a My Account page where people can log/retrieve lost password in if they are a Returning Customer or Create a New Account if they are a New Customer.
Also on this page could be links to the Wish List, Modify Profile and Order History. If anyone has any thoughts on this, it certainly would be appreciated. |
I'm pretty sure you can do this actually, here is an example:
http://www.1stforpartysupplies.com/xcart/customer/home.php If you click My Account at the top, you get a registration page if not logged in and your profile page if you aren't. If you search the forums you can probably find the code to do this. (My partner did this one so I don't know off the top of my head) Also, there is a retrieve password page included under the "help" menu, unless that isn't what you are looking for? |
Thanks for the attempt, but that is just putting the link to the registration page in the speedbar. I did search the boards for quite some time, but didn't see anything.
I want to go to an intermediate MyAccount page where the user can login with user/pw if they are a returning member, or click (the registration.php link, which is easy to place there) if they are a new member and want to create an account. I will then put other links on the account page that refer to their account, such as Order History, etc. In this way the user can always know where to go to get any info related to their account, orders, profile, etc. |
User login
I am going thru the same headache. I saw this site do it successfully though >> http://store.bizmanualz.com/customer/help.php?section=userlogin
I am not sure what version of x-cart they have but I tried it with my 4.0.1 and it would not take. Hopefully this might generate some ideas |
