Newbie question about landing pages...
Greetings,
I am helping a client with a x-cart installation and have a simple question. he client is using x-cart to set up a storefront that takes orders for free products that require shipping and handling to be collected from the customer. We think we have things working ok from a core x-cart perspective but now want to change things in the following way. Instead of using x-cart navigation, and checkout page flows, we want to introduce landing pages that offer 1-click ordering. Each landing page will feature a single product offering and will require the customer to enter billing, shipping, cc info, etc and click a single button to complete this transaction. So what is really being done from these landing pages is that x-cart is being used as a order taking back-end. What I am looking for is either help about how to accomplish this, or more directly pointers to anything resembling an x-cart API document. Thanks in advance for your help. Maybe look for another application for your needs.
You are talking about totally changing the entire X-Cart Payment/Resigstration subroutine. The X-Cart API is that it is open source. If you are looking for a list of variables or a documents tree, then I think you are SOL. X-Cart does not maintain anything like that AFAIK. Sounds like an interesting project. I just think there may be better ways to implement your solution without hacking X-Cart up and making it a nightmare to upgrade. |
