IE CSS problem - need help before I kill myself

Right

This has annoyed me for the last hour and I'm about ready to go to the garden shed, find the bluntest inplement possible and then shove it up my arse. Something which I dont really want to do.

IE sucks. It doesnt suck it is just........no word yet exists for me to vent my fury yet on IE.

Firefox is nice.

Anyway to the point. Here are two pages, with EXACTLY the same piece of code on them. The two grey boxes should be joined together, but on the first page, they are not.

http://www.sportlink.co.uk/catalogue/customer/home.php

http://www.sportlink.co.uk/catalogue/skin1/test.htm

Now if someone could look through my code and CSS I would be most grateful if it is me that has done something wrong. However I have looked for ages and cannot see any reason why it should be happening. If you look at the two in Firefox they are both exactly the same how they should be.

I am almost a broken man due to this, I cannot believe how annoying this has become.

Please excuse my ramblings.

Plus also for some reason it wont show JPG images. However it does show them for products?!

here is an example, i want an image to display on the homepage called football so i do this

[img]{$ImagesDir}/banners/football.jpg[/img]

And it doesnt show, but the image is there on the server. I just think this is happening to just really annoy me.

regarding your jpg images:

here is your code:
http://sportlink.co.uk/catalogue/skin1/images/banners/football.jpg

should be:
http://sportlink.co.uk/catalogue/skin1/images/banners/football.jpg

but image is still not found at this location

are you sure your image is in the right place?

based on your code, putting this link in your browser should produce the image by itself, but doesn't.

http://sportlink.co.uk/catalogue/skin1/images/banners/football.jpg

on this page, the two upper gray boxes are together with no space inbetween in my IE 6

hope this helps, :)
