Drop menus to choose color/size?
 

This is my first post, so if this is a common question I am asking, please forgive me.

I need to add a couple of configurable drop down menus so the customer can pick color and size, or make and model, etc. When the choices are made, X-cart must select a unique SKU for the product in that color/size, so Ican keep my inventory straight and the shipping dept straight. I have seen this feature on several other X-cart sites - anybody know where can I get it, or is this a build it each time one-off thing?

Ive recently figured out in X-Cart 4.0 you can use product variants to do this. Just make your original product like:

T-Shirt

Then in T-Shirt variants make:

T-Shirt/Green/Small
T-Shirt/Green/Medium
T-Shirt/Green/Large
etc

and xcart will automatically create seperate SKUs for the products and track inventory appropriately. hope that helps!

Interesting. I just spent $225 with X-cart to make version 3.5 do this. They never mentioned 4.0 would do it with no extra expense.
