Webmaster Mode and Access Denied

I'm not sure if there is a particular way to use Webmaster mode and check the changes as a logged in customer on the same machine? I'm having problems keeping admin logged in, firing up Webmaster mode then logging in to a customer account in the new window to start making changes to the checkout pages etc How do most people tackle this -separate machine? Two different browsers?

Thanks

I don't think you can, or at least I haven't found out how yet (same problem here).

Hmm, kinda defeats the whole purpose of webmaster mode! Oh well, time to download Netscape 6 as it looks godawful in my netscape 4.6.....

I would use the different browsers. I use netscape and explorer as they are the 2 most used browsers and because they are different programs you do not have the problem of getting logged out all the time.

Thanks, that doesn't actually solve the problem. This is the way I see it:

You log in as admin.
You start webmaster mode.
You launch another customer window using the link provided.
From that window you login as a customer account to make webmaster mode changes to e.g. the checkout pages -this kicks you out of admin.

Another browser doesn't really solve the problem as the webmaster mode customer window is launched from whatever browser you're logged into admin with....

Lol, I think that makes sense!

You do not need to be in webmaster mode though to fix your site. If you are logged in as a customer in say netscape you can see what a CUSTOMER sees not what admin. Then in say explorer you are logged in as Admin you can edit the tpl file without being in webmaster mode and then see the changes in say netscape (which you are logged in as a customer) Web master mode only allows for so much but you can always just edit directly any tpl file you need by going to admin/edit templates and choose the apporpriate tpl file you need to edit.

Has anyone got a workaround for this?

I'm trying to edit my checkoutr pages so I have to be loggind in as a customer and admin, but webmaster only works on the admin browser! Webmaster mode is useful for working out which tpl to edit without having to wade through lots of includes etc,
