Product link targeting

Hi

I am currently customising x-cart and i want featured products when clicked to have their detailed information to be shown in an iframe on a new page.

example:

shoe1 - on click opens products.php?cat=2, on that page is an iframe called detailedproducts. i would like the shoe1 link on the homepage to link to products.php and display shoe1 details in the detailedproducts iframe.

Does anyone have an idea how i could do this, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

and yes I know the flash doesnt stretch across the site but that was what customer wanted and since they paid for it they got it how they wanted it. I do however think this would work for you. Let me know if you need the iframe code to make it work and I will send it to you.
