Can't update templates, changes not sticking
 

I've been able to edit my templates before but today, I login, make a change, click on "update" and the admin page reloads back to the previous version like I haven't made any changes at all.

Anyone know why this might happen? It's like my editing ability has been "turned off"

It may be that you haven't chmodded the folder properly
I think it has to be atleast chmodded to 755

Nope, It was 777, I changed it to 755. Have no idea how it could have become un-chmodded ;-)

It's the weirdest thing. I'm on my admin page and after trying to edit the advanced pages, decided to try the basic templates.

I'm just taking off a <blockquote> tag to see if I can make a change stick and nope, it just reappears after I click on "update"

Template changes are not showing up.
 

I am having the same problem. This morning I was making changes and seeing them appear on the server. Then all at once my changes were being ignored.

I am making changes to customer/main/products.tpl and I know the changes are being updated on the server, but X-Cart loads the old version every time. If I delete the template from the server, then the products stop showing up, but when I put the new version back on the server, the old version is used again.

Does Smarty cache the templates somehow? Where is it getting the old version?

If "$admin_safe_mode" is set to "true" then template editor is write-protected.

I found out why my template changes were not showing up.

There is a directory template_c that has a cached version of the templates. I checked the setting for my smarty cache in smarty.php, and it is set to have cache off, but maybe it is being turned on by X-Cart.

When I deleted the cached version of the template that I was working on, then my changes started to show up again.
