Abandoned Cart and Cron
To send automatic emails using Abandoned Cart does you have to use a Cron?
I did set a cron up, but abandoned cart email is different to one sent manually, it doest seem to have a subject line and the only info in the email is the cart contents. If i send one manually then the send with no problems Cheers Rob |
Re: Abandoned Cart and Cron
Rob,
This will be really tough to troubleshoot or give advice without logging the issue on your actual server. Just for clarity I will ask: Are you saying that Cron is working to send, just missing info? |
Re: Abandoned Cart and Cron
Hi there, the instructions for the abandoned cart are not really that clear when i comes to setting up the automatic emails
Under the general settings, i changed the following option to a '1' which i assume i have to in order to get the automatic sending to work on the abandoned cart Run the script that launches execution of periodic tasks once per N user sessions (Set to 0 or leave empty if you do not want to use this script) when i receive the email, i dont seem to get most of the content, i get the values for example title, quantity and price, and the images of the products, but i get no text and no labels for the values mentioned above Now if i go to where the abandoned cart is in the admin and i manually send a notification, all is fine. I have also tried, with the same setting above, and pasting the cron command into my server and setting up a cron, and i still get the same output. In brief, manual notifications are all sending with no problems, automatic setting is missing information from the email. Is there something i have to change, or am i best sending a support ticket in? Im using X-Cart 4.6.6 Rob |

Hello!
Did you follow these instructions? - http://help.x-cart.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:Abandoned_Cart_Reminder - http://help.x-cart.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:Cron.php_-_Script_for_Periodic_Tasks |
Re: Abandoned Cart and Cron
Yes I did follow the instructions, and it installed without any problems.
As i dont want to run my cron by commandline, from what i have read on these pages, i beleive i have it configured correctly with the following option in the 'General Settings' set to 1 Run the script that launches execution of periodic tasks once per N user sessions (Set to 0 or leave empty if you do not want to use this script) I have just removed my password protected admin folder and just testing again, to see if this was causing the variables not to be passed to the email Rob |
