How to list sub categories directly?

This site is based on X-Cart, Free 5.2.13. I have add some sub categories under main category of Eyeglasses.
I do not want the main categories list at the left bar, only display all sub categories directly, how to do, please?

You have 11 subcategories in the first "root" category, and 3 subcategories in the second.
Do you want to list all these 14 subcategories instead of the 2 "root" ones?
Or do you mean that when you go into a "root" category, the block should switch to the list of inner categories?
