License Key/Serial Number Mod
 

Is there a 3rd party License Key module other than the X-Cart Pin Codes Mod. The X-Cart version does not quite work in the way expected:

In my case, I pay close to $20.00 for pin codes so I can't afford to loose them. By default, the X-Cart Pin Codes mod keeps the pin code as used if an order is failed, or queued. That means if a user has a order that is not processed, then I loose $20.00 and have to get the existing mod tweaked with a cron job not to do this.

Is there no license key module that will ONLY give away a license key on successful orders ONLY!

Are you looking for a mod for X-Cart 4 or X-Cart 5?

I've decided to go with 5. The Pin codes module will work fine there.

I don't think there i much out there, it's really just a customization you can order: http://mods.x-cart.com/Pin-Codes-License-Keys.html

I thought it was included, or configurable in some way, but I can't see anything in the admin. I may be overlooking or remembering some old thing from litecommerce.

Well, $219 for simply sending one line of text within the email is half the x-cart store licence :D. I'll find another way. Thanks!

It's more to it than that. That actually is a good price for quotes.

I know but when you already run the download expander module which sends out keys there are already a lot of functions there. Altogether: there sure is a simpler solution.

I totally agree! I had to suck it up and just pay for the customizations :roll:

If the key stays the same, and doesn't need to be generated then you could just do it with an extra field. But pulling from a list and sending out the next key, then remving that key from the list or even better storing that it was used and attached to this customer or order...

That would take me many hours to code. I'd gladly pay the $219!
