Editing templates locally--how to preview?
 

I'm editing the templates in skin1, and would like to preview them locally on my development computer before uploading to the server. The problem is the Smarty variables (like {$ImagesDir} ) which won't render in the browser. How should I make this work? Can I just install a copy of Smarty locally (I do have Apache and PHP running)?

you need your local server set up with an x-cart install to preview them.

Set up your server with

apache, php, mysql

Install x-cart

and work off the skins1 folder
