Can't edit Contactus.tpl
 

Hi i have just done a fresh install of 3.55 and everthing has seemed to work fine untill i try to edit the contactus.tpl. I only have to make the slightest change or addition and it loads blank.I have been editing loads of other templates it just seems to be this one i am having problems with.

This is normally caused when there is a syntax error with what you have done.

revert to a working version and make sure that all smarty tags are present. :D

Would the syntax error be in the Smarty tags or the surrounding HTML?

I've created a static html page which I want to use as my index. I basically want to systematically add the x-cart widgets (categories, customer, etc.) But every time I add replace the default template with my plain html I get a blank page as well.

Any guidance/advice would be appreciated.

Probably it's in the smarty code, not the HTML. I woudl look for missing {} brace tags, that happens often. Generally look for incorrect smarty code. Maybe copy and paste it here for us to help.
