Email Default Header / Footer question

Hi X-Cart,

I just have one quick question, which I will probably feel dumb over once I hear how easy the answer is :/

We are currently redesigning ALL email notifications for customers within our system and we want to have a default Header and Footer used.

Within: http://help.x-cart.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:Email_Notifications_Options

I see that we have: mail/html/mail_header.tpl (for the Header) and mail/html/signature.tpl (is this for the footer? or something else).
IF this is the footer, I'm surprised its not called "mail_footer" for example.

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Email Default Header / Footer question

Yes the signature.tpl is the footer of the email. It is included in all the mail template files at the bottom. it would make sense to rename it, but it has been named that for as long as I have worked with XC.

Re: Email Default Header / Footer question

My guess is the signature.tpl was names like this as it supposed to hold the signature only

Name
email
blah-blan

Not a real footer but more like a email client signature...

You can just create your own mail_footer.tpl so you have

header
body
footer

and leave the signature alone as is....

Ahh gotcha that makes sense.

I will forward this over for the team to check out.

Thanks for the help Steve and Mike!
