Typekit

Does anyone here use Typekit? If so, how?

Re: Typekit

Thank you again, totaltec, but I guess I should have been more clear.

I have a client who has hired a third party to design their x-cart site - I am merely building the site. The designer has NO experience with x-cart, or any other e-commerce engine and is insisting on using two fonts available only through Typekit. She also insists that I use her Typekit account, and is only providing me the link to the external javascript.

I've inserted it in the header of the "home.tpl" file for the skin I'm using (FashionWalk), but it's not working. I've done a search on this site for "Typekit" and have zero returns; the same for Googling "Typekit x-cart" - a big, fat nothing, there, too. *sigh*

Re: Typekit

Have you investigated a possible conflict between Typekit and X-cart's jQuery version? Just guessing... Can you provide your code, JavaScript and CSS?

What if 2 months from now she closes the account or don't want to do business with his store anymore? This is holding the store owner hostage over some font that can be found somewhere else or similar

Re: Typekit

It depends what the two fonts are that she wants to use.

You may find that they are already in the Google fonts list, in which case she's better off using Google.

Here is the full up to date list...

Edit: just noticed you said "using two fonts available only through Typekit" :(

Well, I think there's familial ties in that regard, but the thought has occurred to me so I opened my own Typekit account to be on the safe side. My boss is going to have a cow, but oh, well.

Another reason I've opened my own Typekit account - I want to see what they have to say about how to use their fonts.

What makes this all even more hysterical is that for some reason the last couple of versions of Firefox (25.0.1 and 26.0) aren't rendering one of the fonts AT ALL. I've sent them an email; we'll see what they have to say.
