Help with Menu
 

Hello,

We purchased this template: http://template-demos.com/xct/XCT02/XCT020035/

Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to modify the top categories drop down menu?

I need to either modify it by showing only some categories or just deleting it.

If this helps... The top menu uses 2 templates

fancy_subcategories_exp.tpl and fancy_subcategories.tpl

Use webmaster mode.
Tools > Webmaster mode

Hover over the templates listed in the popup. You will identify the template that is used to make these menus. Open the template that is the parent of the menu tpl.

You will see an include for the template file (.tpl) that is this horizontal menu.

comment it out

(* this is a commented out line of code *}
this is not

make webmaster mode your BFF. I have been using xcart for 7 years and it lives in its own tab, permanently.

in addition to template structure, webmaster mode also can reveal variables in use
it's an invaluable tool

I experimented with omitting the whole menu by comment out but it looks terrible. It leave an empty space that is not very appealing.

Any way to modify it buy adding the categories of choice without distributing the side bar categories?

It's odd that they would design a template with dual categories on the same page. If I could modify it by only displaying the important / most clicked cats, that would be great!
