Can someone please, please tell me the best way of editing the ideal comfort template so that the sidebars are removed completly at all ?

in the last 6 months the number of complete solutions inside this forum decreased dramatically. what I suggest you is staring with Mike's video for changing templates.

it is not difficult if you know what to edit. you have to start learning from scratch.
