OPC in 4.5.5 - payment method not disabled
Hi,
I'm just playing with 4.5.5, and I've noticed that in OPC, many of the section are disabled. Presumably this changes when the profile section is filled in and applied, when those sections become active. For some reason though, the Payment Method section is active by default, and isn't 'greyed out' like the others. Does anyone know why this is? I checked the QT demo store, and it does the same. At first I thought it was a bug, but looking at ajax.checkout.js in the OPC directory it seems that the appropriate line is commented out. Presumably therefore, there must be a (good) reason. Assuming there isn't, and it's OK to uncomment the line (which I've done), the payment section is disabled, but not greyed out. So, it behaves as it should but doesn't look as it should. Can someone tell me what I need to do to change it so that it remains greyed until it is activated? I've searchd around in the code a little, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. Many thanks Welly |
Re: OPC in 4.5.5 - payment method not disabled
I wouldn't use xcart's OPC if you want customers to actually check out.
OPC can work if you are selling tech, to geeks. If you are selling to normal people (non-techies), you need a checkout that is more like every other store in the world. In X-Cart, you can use FLC or a 3rd party checkout. I use Altered Cart Checkout One. FWIW J |
Re: OPC in 4.5.5 - payment method not disabled
I certainly agree that the vanilla OPC could be better, but with some added notes and visual cues (step 1, step 2, etc), I think it can be improved considerably. Plus everything is on one page, which I prefer over FLC.
I'll soldier on with it, if I can sort out the payment method disabling problem. Many thanks though. Welly |
