Hello, I am trying to edit the header of my order invoice/receipt page/email, but am having some difficulties in doing so.

I have edited the mail_header.tpl file in several locations but still am not seeing the changes I made.

I made the changes to the following files:
skin/common_files/mail/mail_header.tpl
skin/common_files/mail/html/mail_header.tpl
skin1/mail/mail_header.tpl
skin1/mail/html/mail_header.tpl

I then ran a couple test orders but continued to receive the old message header. I made these changes via FTP using dreamweaver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These files are for the emails only. If you want to change what you see on the screen you need to modify order_invoice.tpl. Also you may need to run cleanup.php after changes

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I will try modifying this file as well and see if the changes take.

Quick question though, which is the correct path for the file I need to modify? Is it under skin or skin1?

There is no skin1 for your version of XC.

Ok, so I tried making some changes to order_invoice.tpl but not before making a backup of the file and naming it order_invoice_old.tpl

I made the changes and uploaded the new file. Now whenever I try to place a test order I get stuck on a page that states "Your order is being placed. Please wait.." but after several minutes of waiting nothing happens. After I noticed this, I then re-uploaded the original file, but I am still receiving this error.

The test orders I am placing are showing up as Queued in X-Cart but I am not receiving any emails or notifications of the orders.

Is there a way to reset the invoice_order.tpl file? Or is something else going on here? See attached image.

Please help!
