Flat Rate shipping

Hey guys,
Working on my OPC page, and people get confused by the layout of xcart's OPC so we were thinking of making it so the customer doesn't have to click the "apply" button at the bottom of the "profile" section.

We have flat rate shipping, so the shipping is always the same, short of certain items weight too much for certain shipping methods.

Anyone have ideas how to show the available shipping methods all the time without the customer having to enter the profile info first?

Under General Settings > Default Customer Options (2nd section on that page)

Try filling in your Defaults ad check the box for:
"Presume that a not logged in customer is from the default country"

Does that handle it?

Wow... didn't think of that. That makes perfect sense and works great once I took out the "disable" for OPC.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Now one more question, do you know how i could get rid of the need for the "apply" button? Maybe the antibot code requirement too, but i would like to keep it on other pages, so disabling it in settings doesn't work.

Well, I can't really see that happening very easily. Talking about massive code changes to the JS, php, and templates (most likely).

See, hitting apply is involved in a lot of crucial things, like checking if this username already exists, address verification, profile creation, address book entries... its going to take more than it's worth to change, IMO. Might want to demo a different OPC module and see if it better fits your needs. Here is one with a live demo: http://www.alteredcart.com/product.php?productid=8

Makes sense. Didn't think of all of the other implications that the script ran through. No wonder i have been trying to wrangle with this for a while haha. Thanks for all of the help, you have answered a ton.
