Help with customization...
 

Hi-

I thought I was fairly good at editing and customizing XC, however I really haven't done much since 4.1.10. I'm in the process of customizing 4.5.0 and I find myself lost.

It seems everything in 4.5.0 is controlled by CSS which I really don't know. I understand color/text styles but not table size and or layouts.

In the past I used tables and inserted the "includes" where I wanted them. I'm sure that will still work but maybe CSS is a bit easier.

Can somebody give me some advise, pointers or a direction to start with? At first the only portion of XC I want to edit is the header.

That would be a good place to start - http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
Do not use tables, css is way way better and faster.

Also, check out Mike's (Baby Monkey's) video tutorials on how to build your own custom skin in X-Cart 4.4.5+. This gives you a great way to mess around until you get it looking just right. I have a bout the same knowledge as you describe so we are in the same boat. Mike's tutorials are great, and I have learned a lot through trial and error.
