You might consider the Berghoff Cafe. It's one of the oldest bar/restaurants in Chicago - for a genuine feel for what Chicago was like in its glory days. They have been brewing their own beer (two versions: lager and dark) since long before micro-breweries became the rage. They also make excellent root beer for non-drinkers. It is a large place: one side is a gigantic bar with floor to ceiling dark wood paneling and large photos taken during the prohibition era. The other side is a wonderful restaurant specializing in German fare. Located on 17 West Adams Street.

I live in Chicago - The Berghoff never disappoints out of town guests. No matter where you decide, I'll do what I can to join you.

Hi Jim,

That's a great suggestion! The Berghoff sounds really nice. And it's got lots of history I see.

Jim, have you been to a local sports bar called Mother Hubbard's at 5 W. Hubbard St. Chicago, IL 60654 at: http://www.motherhubbardschicago.com/
Is that a typical local sports bar in Chicago ? I don't know if it would be suitable for a meeting though.

David,
You can't go wrong with Mother Hubbard's as a sports bar, but if there is a big game going on, it could be on the loud side . . . I'm not sure if your goal is to stay as close to the downtown area (called "the Loop") or not. There are some great brew pub options a little bit North - probably the best one would be Goose Island Brewery (Goose Island is a Chicago landmark). They have two brew pubs on the North side:

Hi Jim,

Goose Island Brewery looks like a great place!

Of course, wherever QualiTeam chooses, I look forward to attending!

Maybe it would be recommended to get reservations, of course, since
most bars / pubs in Chicago are usually very busy.

For a Friday in June, reservations would be recommended. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
