Is the DSEFU from safetynet an active mod or has it now become redundant

Well, I don't see anything about it that makes it better than X-cart's default Clean URLs. So in that way it is redundant IMO.

CDSEO on the other hand, has some definite advantages though, I highly recommend it. X-cart's Clean URLs are great, they are just fine for most site owners. SEO-crazed entreprenuers that are determined to rank well may find they need the finer level of control that CDSEO offers.
