Comminity forums in operation

Dear customers,

We are very happy to announce that community forums are back in action.
It was a big surprise for all us when on Sunday the hosting company (www.httpd.net) from which we rented a dedicated server for community forums suddenly gone out of business, leaving us on our own. Luckily we had backup copy of forums dated Feb 02 2004. So we restored forums from this backup copy however all postings for the past two weeks are lost.
For several days performance of community forums may be somewhat slow however as soon as we finish configuring our new dedicated server (from another hosting company) forums will perform at top notch speed again.
We again apologize for inconvenience. We were missing you very much for all these days. Welcome aboard.

I'm in touch with that emotion, I've had hosting companies just fold up under me without ANY notice. Which I think is just bad business, course I guess if they are going bankrupt then they could care less for me. But still a heads would be nice, I'd even offered to help soften the blow somehow to them but instead I had to wait a month just to get my email server backup :(

Great to see the forums area backup!

Been there too, lost a site which was one of the biggest for it's area in the UK thanks to a company called Cybertitan.com who decided to pack up all of thier servers without telling their customers, what made it worse was they registered the domain name with a company who only dealt with hosts and it took us a month to get control of the domain name back.

Painful experience, nice to see the forums at least had a close back up, there's so much useful information stored away in those threads!

Same with your stores guys, don't rely on your hosts to hold your backups! They go in and out of business like a yoyo these days. 8O

I know that feeling too ... so much i had to get NOMINET to change my tags on my domain to redirect to another hoster.

Glad to see the forums are back :P

Thats a relief, I thought it was my ISP that was blocking certain areas or something. Too bad some hosting companies dont take business serious to at least advise with time.

We have finished configuring a new dedicated server (from other provider). Forums are on a dedicated server now, so I hope that the perfomance will improve.
