Getting Extra Fields to appear on Customer View
 

I need to add a line of text to several hundred products so that the line of text shows up on the product details page when the customer is viewing it.

Rather than go in and manually add it to the Detailed Description of every product, my thought was to add an extra field and put the information there by mass editing the products.

I have created the extra field. The module is clicked on, however it does not show up in the product details when the customer is viewing the product.

The Extra field is listed in the product details on the admin side and I have added text to the field, but you cannot see it on the customer view when looking at product details.

My question is, "Since this is a module, should it just automatically appear in the product details when the customer is viewing product, or do you have to do further code editing to make it visible?

If it doesn't show in this case most likely your product details template was modified to not show extra fields. Another reason could be if the extra field is not active - check extra fields in admin
