Changing Entire Layout
Hey guys!
I am working on a store right now that I will b porting over once I get the general layout done and I wondered if this will be possible. I would like the view of multiple products to look like this - http://fashion.markation.com/store_index.html and the product view to look like this - http://fashion.markation.com/store_item.html I have a moderate level of PHP background, but am not familiar with the Smarty templating system, so I wondered how difficult this will be to pull off? Since these are clothes, a short description of the clothes is all that is needed and I want 8 thumbnails per page, as with this layout all can easily be seen on any resolution without scrolling. Thanks guys, David Young |
Hi,
If you have strong html skills, the Smart templates are fairly easy to learn. With a good deal of time and effort, you should be able to recreate your look within the x-cart templates. Hope that helps, ATKOgirl |
Thanks ATKOgirl
Thanks ATKOgirl!
I do have strong HTML skills and can do pretty much anything in PHP, but I have never worked with the Smarty engine. I hope that it is as easy as you say! Thanks for the advice! :D See ya, David Young |

I normally just make a copy of skin1/ into skin2/ and edit as I go. |
