Changing New member label - English language

Hello,

I am trying to replace New member label with New customer. This is because I am not forcing the customers to become members and leaving the New member on top of the form becomes too confusing.

I found the label in Languages/English but after changing it and applying change I still have New member on the form.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Predrag

I had the same problem after I "Compiled Templates" from an errant post. Have you done any changes recently? What version are you running? What type of operating system and PHP are you using? Please add these to your profile signature so the "Big Guys" can help you! Do you have a backup?

Sorry-
I see that you have a different post with the signature problem.

Here are the details from Admin/Summary. Yes, I do have a backup. So if templates are compiled where do I go to update that label?

Thanks,
Predrag

Check out this post. See if it what you have done. The symptoms sound the same.

I was trying to get rid of other languages and keep only English. Another member, adpboss, helped problem solve and restore my site. I am not by any means savvy at this. I would PM him, tell him I sent you, and he should be able to assist you if one of the Moderators cannot.

Hope this helps.

you could use webmaster mode to make the changes

If webmaster mode doesn't work, then seriously consider my suggestion.

I can't figure the webmaster mode out. I can only turn on webmaster mode when I am in the admin area. But how do I get from there to the pages that are visible when customer checks out? Or any pages in regular catalog for that matter?

Thanks,
Predrag

Turn on the Webmaster mode then navigate under admin to the "Edit Template" to the left side menu. I thought you were changing labels? This is still done under admin under "Languages" Just leave the Webmaster mode on as you go.

If I knew what template I wanted to change I wouldn't need webmaster mode. I like the fact that moving mouse over links on webmaster mode higlights part of the page that is the template I need.

That is what I am asking. How to keep the webmaster on and in the same time have customer end in the main window so that when I move mouse over the links in webmaster mode window I will know which template to change.

I might be super confusing by now... including myself. :)

I'll just find where the template is.
