different permissions after php5.3 server upgrade
I was wondering if it this was normal. After my host upgraded his server to php5.3 I have had to give full permissions to some of the files that didn't need them before. So now some files that were 644 need 666 and 755 need 777, not all the files, just ones that x-cart tries to write to. Is that right, I didn't think that was very secure.

Re: different permissions after php5.3 server upgrade
It's not normal as part of a normal upgrade that permissions would need to be changed, but during their upgrade they could have installed some extra modules on the server.
777 for contents in the /var folder and 755 for the /admin/payments/*.pl are normal settings. There shouldn't be anything set to 666 however (at least none that I recall). |
