Email Address Login instead of Username?
 

Has anyone made X-Cart use a person's email address as their login name instead of making up a username?

I would like to do this but I am not sure how.

I have not tried this, but if you have a development copy of xcart installed (I have 3 for messing around with), you could try this:-

Change the username LABEL to read E-mail .

You can add characters in a username, therefore you should be able to use an E-mail address as the username.

To avoid changing many files change the LABEL only, I don't think smarty will know the difference, unless smarty rejects the "." , "@" , " - " , "_" characters used in email address.

Thanks for the information. The company (X-Cart) is going to customize the login for me.

I would like to do this with my store also. Has anyone figured out how to do this?
