auto-populate a "new products" category
I'm looking to create a new product category called "new products" that will automatically populate with the newest products in my shop - I figured this would be a common mod but I can't seem to find it. I don't just want a list I can put in a sidebar -- I want it to be a product category, and I want it to self-populate. (It'd be great if I could control the date range, number of products included, etc., but that's not necessary.)
Is this possible? Have you seen a mod like this anywhere here on the forums or around the web? THANKS. Julie 4.4.2 |

Re: auto-populate a "new products" category
thanks for the link, but that doesn't actually do what i'm looking for. i'd like a category like all of my other categories, but i want it to populate itself with the newest products without me having to assign products to that category.

Re: auto-populate a "new products" category
There was a script somewhere here to search and return products added after xx date. You don't have to have as a category - you can just hard code the link in the category menu. It uses the same template as the catergory listings so it iwll look just like the other categories
