Editing 3 column light and lucid
 

I have downloaded the trial version of X-Cart 4.4.2 Gold.

Before I pay for it I want to know how to edit so I can:

1 Move the static pages out of the Help box into their own box on the top of the left hand column as well as have their own title (not "Help").

2 Change the menu for the static pages so it uses dhtml or css to have a multi-level menu. I've done it before but not in X-Cart.

If somebody can point me to a link on how to edit the template that would be good. I've never used Smarty before. I've used PHP to a basic level before and I've used TextPattern before but I'm just starting to use X-Cart.

Also, I recommend using FireBug or something similar along with the WebMaster mode in X-Cart it should reduce the time to locate the proper code/files.

There is also a really nice program called stylizer which inspects all the css elements on a page and lets you change on the fly. Found it invaluable at times. There's a demo available.

If you are a mac user then look at CSS Edit which is another top program
