Does anyone make an app for smartphones for xcart sites? Something to help make it easier to view and use my xcart site from/on a smartphone?

BCS Engineering used to have a 'mobile' mod - but I don't see it in their store anymore

they still sell it i have it has a few issue that need to be worked out but if does the basic job

ecommerce is growing fast and i would like to see some improvements to the mod but there last update to it was a year ago i dont have great hopes for it

You would think with the popularity of smartphones that there would be a whole bunch of apps for smartphones for the xcart store. Is this because xcart is not very popular?

It is because it is very difficult to do for the mass public because of all the vast differences in templates, mods installed on a site (custom and 3rd party), expectations of how it should look, etc. Also another complexity is the vast number of browsers out there for mobile phones. It's actually worse than making templates to work for all computer browsers. There are some very significant quirks for some mobile browsers that are a pain to code around.

We will sell the mobile mod to those wanting it, but we are also attempting to rewrite it for 4.4.x at a minimum. We haven't decided what the plans are for earlier versions yet.

Any ideas when the mobile mod will be available for testing in 4.4.X?

If within a reasonable time frame, I'd happily volunteer some time with it, as I'm testing that version of x-cart anyhow.
