User Login same password for all customers
I have a unique situation where a client does not want just anyone stumbling on their site and being able to register and gain access to the store. We are going to send an email blast out to customers and in the email will be the password they need in order to register.
I would like to create a single password, so a customer will need to enter this correctly along with their own unique username (in this case, I have email address enabled as username option) in order to register. |
Re: User Login same password for all customers
We've done basically the same thing with our company. We have multiple OEM's that we supply products to. Each one has many dealers/distributors. We set up all of their accounts using their dealer/distributor # as their login. The password is based on the OEM. We have it set up to have them change their password upon initial login. This was the easiest way to handle 1000's of accounts. We were able to send one email per OEM that simply says to use your dealer/distributor# as your login and xxxx as your password.

That sounds like exactly what I need. Can you post the instructions, or give me an idea where to start?

Re: User Login same password for all customers
You can do it when you import your customer list. There is a column for "Password".
