Adding Categories to Front Page
 

This is my first install of 4.4.x and I am racking my brain trying to figure out how to list the categories on the front page. You used to simply include categories_welcome.tpl, but I cannot find any similar file in this version. Anyone know?

If it helps, I don't think categories_welcome.tpl is part of any standard skin. It may be part of some other skin or a custom file.

Are you saying there are no categories listed on front page with default installation? They should be there by default, no modifications required.

Do you mean Featured Products or the categories menu on the side? I don't see home page categories in the demo.

If you want to have featured categories I have done a small mod for that in the past I can explain?

Or are you just wanting to list all categories?

The categories are on the left bar. I was hoping to have them in the middle too along with the category icon and description. And then have the featured products under the categories. They only have a few categories.

This was really easy to do in older versions of x-cart. I just thought that I was missing something obvious. I'll probably make a copy of categories.ptl, customize the look, and include it on the front page.
