custom home page

1) how can i make a customized home page?

I would like to see it continually being changed to show sale items and the text to change as needed, the ability to change images of sale items and specials, also to be able to add links. Is it possible or can a template that can be updated through the admin page be set?

Anyone can help figure this out?

You just edit the welcome.tpl template to add whatever you want :)

An example from 4.3: In customer/main/welcome.tpl use:

{include file="pages/en/file-name.html"}

"en" is your language and "file-name.html" is found at the top of the static page info. :)
